Day 1: Bucharest and Sibiu
Sibiu Old Town
Explore the Great and Small Squares, the Bridge of Lies and roof windows known as the city’s “eyes”. Museum interiors are distinct from the guided street walk.
Day 2: Corvin Castle and Alba Iulia
Corvin Castle, Hunedoara
Approach the castle across its raised bridge and explore its courtyards and Gothic architecture. Your guide distinguishes documented history from the legends associated with the fortress.
Alba Iulia Citadel
Explore the gates and walking routes of the star-shaped Alba Carolina fortress. Its present fortifications date from the eighteenth century, rather than the Roman period.
Day 3: Biertan and Sighișoara
Biertan Fortified Church
Discover the church and defensive walls above the village. This is part of the UNESCO-listed group of Transylvanian villages with fortified churches.
Sighișoara Citadel
Walk through a lived-in UNESCO-listed historic centre, with guild towers and cobbled lanes. The Clock Tower, Covered Stairway and Church on the Hill can be discussed with your guide; interior visits depend on opening hours.
Day 4: Viscri and Brașov
Viscri Village
Follow village lanes to the fortified church and learn how a place of worship also protected its community. Private homes and royal-associated properties are not automatically open to visitors.
Transylvanian lunch
The published itinerary includes a lunch on Day 4. Tell your agent about dietary needs before the meal arrangements are confirmed.
Brașov Old Town
Walk around Council Square, the Black Church area and the lanes below Tâmpa. A church interior visit is separate from the Old Town walk and depends on access.
Day 5: Libearty, Bran and Bucharest
Libearty Bear Sanctuary, Zărnești
A guided sanctuary visit explains the care of rescued bears. Entry is governed by the sanctuary’s schedule and visitor rules; confirm eligibility and availability before booking.
Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle)
Explore the fortress above Bran and its connection with Romanian royal history. The Dracula association belongs to the literary legend, not evidence that the fictional count lived here.
Return through the Rucăr-Bran area
Continue towards Bucharest along the agreed return route. Road conditions determine arrival timing.
