Two or four days in Transylvania: what changes?

DayTrip Romania’s two-day weekend itinerary focuses on Corvin Castle and Sibiu, with a Sibiu walk and a fortified-church visit around Cisnădie. It is not a shortened copy of the Peleș, Bran and Brașov day tour.

The four-day itinerary covers the castle corridor and Brașov, then Sighișoara and Viscri, followed by Biertan and Sibiu before returning to Bucharest. Compare these actual routes rather than assuming every Transylvania tour visits the same sites.

Choose two days for a focused overnight journey

• You have limited time but want an overnight stay beyond Bucharest.
• Corvin Castle and Sibiu are priorities.
• You are comfortable with the drives needed to reach western Transylvania.
• You prefer choosing a few sites rather than adding every major castle.

Choose four days for a broader regional route

• You want castles, Saxon towns and fortified churches in one itinerary.
• You can allow several nights away from Bucharest.
• You want to compare the character of Brașov, Sighișoara and Sibiu.
• You understand that more stops still require a realistic daily pace.

Check seasonal access and what is included

The four-day return route may use Transfăgărășan only when official access and weather permit; the published itinerary provides an Olt Valley alternative. A month on a calendar is not a guarantee of alpine road access.

Review accommodation category, room arrangements, breakfasts, admissions and guiding against the selected itinerary and final offer. Ask about mobility needs and luggage before confirming the vehicle.

Tell the agent your dates, arrival and departure points, number of guests and a short list of priorities. Mention any fixed flight or train connection so the final day can be planned realistically.

A direct hotel-to-hotel transfer is a different service. If you do not need sightseeing or overnight touring, compare the transport-only option instead.
